M. Gurza Customs Brokers offers a full range of coast-to-coast customs clearance services. Our in-house customs department will provide you with an expedited release of your goods, so that your shipment is delivered to you and your customers as quickly as possible.
We understand that customs clearance can be a complicated procedure for many of our clients. This is why our approach to customs brokerage centers around verbal and electronic communication. We strive to provide each client with knowledgeable advice and guidance, so as to make this process as effortless as possible.
Freight and Brokerage
The majority of our customers prefer that we handle both their shipping and customs related needs. Doing so, allows us to minimize complications that are brought about by using different service providers. Relying on the Gurza group of companies to seamlessly provide multiple services can help reduce your lead-time and costs.
Brokerage Only
There may be times when you need to rely on couriers to handle your smaller parcels, but still want the personalized attention of the Gurza customs team. We can easily accommodate such customers. By using EDI software, we can seamlessly transfer customs information from your courier to our centralized system. This ensures that your shipments can be cleared from coast-to coast with no delays.
The GST Direct Program
Most shipments that enter Canada are assessed a Goods and Services Tax. The majority of our clients find that the simplest way to handle these charges is by using our GST Direct Program. This program simplifies your GST payments by allowing you to pay a single, lump-sum installment at the end of the month. This reduces the need to make multiple per-entry payments.
How GST Direct works:
G.S.T. on all shipments released during the period commencing on the 18th day of the preceding month, up to and including the 17th day of the current month, are payable to the CBSA on the last working day of the current month.
Gurza's invoices clearly distinguish the amount payable to CBSA (G.S.T.) from amounts payable to Gurza (duty, freight, cartage, fees, etc).
To assist the importer in reconciling his account with CBSA, Gurza prepares a detailed statement of all transactions and corresponding amounts payable at month's end. This report is sent to the importer by fax on the 25th day of each month, or on the next business day when the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday.
To apply for this plan, simply paste our GST Agreement Application onto your corporate letterhead. To ensure quick processing of your GST Direct Application, please include a copy of one document that has your corporate business name, address and phone number (i.e. GST receipt).
